Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

AthenaPrep (“AthenaPrep”, “we”, “us”) is a CAT & OMET preparation platform, founded and operated by Prachi Priya Jha.

This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights — in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the applicable IT Rules. By using AthenaPrep you agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

Account data — your name and email (or the name/email from Google sign-in) provided at signup.

Usage & progress — questions attempted, answers chosen, mock and tracker results, planner, error log, bookmarks, notes, streaks and percentile inputs — so we can save your progress and show your analysis.

Payment data — when you subscribe to Pro or Elite, the payment is handled by our payment partner. We receive the subscription status and a reference for the transaction; we never see or store your card, UPI or bank credentials.

Content you upload — files/notes you add to your Ask Athena library, used only to answer your own questions.

Technical data — a secure session cookie, and aggregate, privacy-friendly usage analytics (e.g. page views) to improve the product.

3. How we use your information

To run the service — authenticate you, save your progress, generate your analysis and planner, and process and enforce your Pro/Elite subscription and access.

To support you, keep the platform secure, prevent fraud, and meet legal or tax obligations.

We do NOT sell your personal data, and we do NOT show third-party advertising.

4. Sharing & service providers

We never sell your personal data, and we never share it with advertisers, data brokers or anyone else for marketing.

Running AthenaPrep takes a small, carefully chosen set of service providers — for hosting and infrastructure, sign-in and secure data storage, payment processing, email delivery, and the AI that answers your Ask Athena questions. Each provider acts only on our instructions, under agreements that require confidentiality and appropriate security, and receives only what it needs for that one job — for Ask Athena, for example, just the text of your question.

We do not publish our provider list here, because naming the systems behind the platform mainly helps people trying to attack it. If you need those details for your own compliance or due diligence, write to hello@athenaprep.in and we will share them with you.

Some providers process data on servers outside India, under appropriate contractual safeguards.

Beyond this we disclose personal data only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety and security of our users and the platform.

5. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. On account closure or a verified deletion request we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except records we must retain for legal, tax or accounting reasons (e.g. payment records).

6. Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and access to your records is restricted by row-level security and access controls so only you (and our authorised systems) can reach them. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

7. Your rights

You can access or correct your details, clear your progress, withdraw consent, or request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hello@athenaprep.in. We respond within the timelines required by law.

8. Children

AthenaPrep is built for CAT and OMET aspirants, and the service is intended for users aged 18 and above.

If you are under 18, you may use AthenaPrep only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf and remains responsible for the account and for any payment made through it.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from a child without verifiable parental consent, and we never use a child's data for behavioural tracking, profiling or targeted advertising.

If you believe a child is using AthenaPrep without that consent, write to hello@athenaprep.in and we will verify and remove the account along with its data.

9. Cookies

We use a secure cookie only to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

10. Refunds & cancellation

Pro and Elite are digital subscriptions that unlock the full platform the instant you pay. Because access — and the server, infrastructure and content costs behind it — is delivered to you immediately and in full, subscription fees are non-refundable.

Each plan is a one-time payment for the selected CAT & OMETS 26' or CAT & OMETS 27' access period. There is no auto-renewal or recurring charge — nothing to cancel; access ends on the date shown before checkout. If you were charged in error or hit a genuine billing problem, write to hello@athenaprep.in and we will make it right.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as AthenaPrep grows; material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Grievance redressal & contact

For any question, request or complaint about your personal data, contact us at hello@athenaprep.in — please write “Grievance” in the subject line. We acknowledge and resolve grievances within the timelines required under India's DPDP Act, 2023 and the applicable IT Rules.

AthenaPrep is founded and operated by Prachi Priya Jha. This policy is governed by the laws of India, with jurisdiction in the courts of India.
